Lunchtime Quick Procedures:

Laser
Surgeries:
Age spots, wrinkles, blotchy skin, and
widening pores have long accompanied the natural ageing
process, marring one's
self-confidence. Most sufferers attempt to compensate through the
use of
heavier and heavier make-up, or try
to alleviate their condition through techniques such as deep
chemical peels and dermabrasion.
There are alternatives, however, Dr Schmidt uses some of the
newest and most effective treatments
for skin blemishes, these involve the use of lasers and focused
light wavelengths. The two of
these kinds of treatments that Dr Schmidt offers the patients are
intense
Pulse Light (IPL) and a Carbon
Dioxide (CO2) Laser, and both are simple and easy enough to be
performed on a lunch break basis.
Intense Pulse Light treatment entails the use of a technique known
as photo-rejuvenation. What this
means is that the skin is treated through
the use of multiple wavelengths of light-which is similar to a
laser treatment but differs in that with
IPL different waves of light are entering the skin with variable
energy levels affecting the layers of skin.
Each treatment is thus customized by Dr Schmidt, according
to the patient, and inputs such as skin
color and type are considered to maximize and tailor the results
This treatment is effective for many
concerns, including age spots, broken capillaries, wrinkles
telangiectasias, benign pigmented skin, and
even rosacea.
Carbon Dioxide Lasers offers a similar solution, and is used, by Dr
Schmidt, mainly to reduce the
appearance of lines in the skin and
scarring through a process called laser resurfacing. Carbon Dioxide
Lasers work through emitting focused
infrared beams in short pulses. These energy pulses serve to
vaporize the skin, allowing the removal of
the damaged outer layers of skin. Wrinkles can be brushed to
be less prominent, scars can be faded and
skin pigmentation can be evened out using this procedure.
Typical areas targeted by Dr Schmidt are
lines around the lip, crow's feet, facial scarring from acne an
penocular lines.
Procedure:
Intense Pulse Light treatments
involve the use of hand-piece that is used, by Dr Schmidt, to apply
focused light-waves across the entire
treated area. No anesthesia or injections are necessary as the
discomfort is minimal. These
treatments are organized into a regimen spanning anywhere from three
to five months, with the 45 minute to
hour-long procedures spaced out every three to six weeks. A
soothing moisturizing cream is then
applied under your own makeup.
The Carbon Dioxide Laser treatments follow a similar regimen as the
IPL technique. It however involves
only one short treatment applied
through a handheld device. During the procedure. Dr Schmidt applies
the laser beam across the skin and
the outer layers of removed skin are wiped clean. A healing cream
is then applied to the more youthful
treatment area.
Recovery:
Recovery times
vary between the two treatments. Intense Pulse Light requires no
recovery time, as it
is the inner layers of skin that are
treated, not the outer layer. Many patients can go back to work
afterward. Chances for side effects
are very slim, and there is no peeling, no redness, and no
bandages.
Carbon Dioxide Laser treatments may involve a period of recovery as
it is a procedure that deals
directly with the outer surface of
the skin. Redness, soreness, and peeling are possible, and may last
for a few weeks.
If you're looking for Dr Schmidt to help you improve the look of
your skin and reverse the visual
advancement of age, Intense Pulse Light or
Carbon Dioxide Laser may be for you. |
